Stories That Support Growth For the Classroom

The 5 Cs & Mindful Magic™ Framework

Welcome to the Little Grail Queen Educators page — where imagination meets emotional development.

Little Grail Queen is a story world created for children ages 4–9 that brings gentle, mythic tales into everyday learning. Rooted in kindness, creativity, and courage, this world also supports emotional awareness and classroom well-being through framework-based activities and reflection prompts.

Little Grail Queen stories are designed to support more than literacy — they encourage emotional and social awareness in young learners through the 5 Cs:

Courage

• Noticing feelings without fear
• Staying present in big emotions

Compassion

• Building kindness toward self and others
• Practicing empathetic listening

Curiosity

• Exploring thoughts and sensations
• Engaging present-moment attention

Creativity

• Using imagination as a tool for emotional exploration
• Encouraging flexible thinking

Connection

• Strengthening relational awareness
• Supporting co-regulation through shared reading

This framework supports social-emotional learning (SEL) goals in developmentally appropriate ways and can be woven into daily lessons, story time, and small group moments.

2. Science + Story: Why It Works

ittle Grail Queen isn’t just storytelling — it uses brain-informed emotional tools that support self-awareness, regulation, and reflection in young learners. The 5 Cs framework draws on mindful attention, emotional naming, and shared listening practices that help children build resilience and social confidence.

This approach aligns with common SEL goals and nurtures the whole child in a gentle, joyful way.

3. Designed for Young Learners

Created with school age learners in mind, the stories use:

  • Short, lyrical text
  • Clear visual storytelling
  • Reassuring themes
  • A slow, calming pace

They are especially well suited for K through elementary classrooms and can be adapted for a wide range of learning environments.

The Vision Behind Little Grail Queen

Creator & Founder: The Little Grail Queen

Little Grail Queen stories are more than bedtime adventures.

They are gently designed to support emotional resilience.

Inspired by the experience of founder D. Whitney — whose background includes building a neuroscience-based treatment center focused on emotional resilience and brain health — the series is guided by the 5 Cs framework, a story-driven approach that supports:

  • Emotional awareness
  • Self-regulation
  • Compassionate thinking
  • Creative problem-solving
  • Secure connection

Each work sheet includes optional “Avalon Pause” moments that integrate mindful breathing, listening, and reflection in a playful, non-clinical way.

Children aren’t told to “regulate.”
They learn to listen to their inner lake.

They don’t practice “diaphragmatic breathing.”
They glow like sprites.

It’s brain science — wrapped in magic.
